How to take UPI payments from your Instagram bio
Followers who want to book you shouldn’t have to ask for your UPI ID in DMs. Here’s how to put payment right on your link in bio page, so a client can pay you in a few taps and the money lands in your own bank account.
Why take payment from your bio
Most bookings from Instagram still go like this: a DM, a few messages about the price, a UPI ID typed into the chat, then a screenshot to prove the payment. Every one of those steps is a chance for the client to get busy and forget.
When your price and a pay button sit on your link in bio page, the client sees what it costs and pays in the same minute they decide. You get fewer “price?” messages and more paid bookings.
How UPI payment works on a link in bio page
You add your UPI ID once. When a client books a session, the page opens their UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm or any other) with your name, the amount and the session already filled in. On a computer, they scan a QR code with their phone instead.
The money goes straight from the client’s bank to yours. Card About Me never holds it and takes no commission, on any plan.
Set it up on Card About Me
- 1Sign up and open your page in the dashboard. Payments are part of Pro, which you can try free for 7 days.
- 2Go to About you, then Payments, and type your UPI ID and the name on your UPI account.
- 3Send yourself ₹1 from another UPI app to check the ID is right.
- 4On the Page tab, add Sessions & booking and give each session a name, a length and a price in ₹.
- 5Copy your page link and paste it into Instagram: Edit profile, Links, Add external link.
What your client sees
1. Picks a time
Your open slots, in their own time zone.
2. Leaves their details
Name, and a WhatsApp number or email so you can reach them.
3. Pays
Their UPI app opens with the amount filled in, or they scan your QR code.
4. Taps “I’ve paid”
The booking shows in your dashboard. Check your UPI app, then confirm it with the client.
A tip jar for fans and supporters
Not everyone who likes your work wants a session. Add a Tip jar to your page and supporters can send any amount by UPI, straight to you. Creators often put it under their latest video or free download.
Clients outside India
Most clients abroad can’t pay with UPI. Under Payments, also add a PayPal.me link or a Razorpay payment link. Clients outside India see your $ price and those options first, so nobody hits a dead end. PayPal and Razorpay charge their own usual fees; we still take nothing.
Tips for getting paid on time
- Show the price before the button. People who already know the price pay without asking first.
- Use your real name on UPI. Clients trust a payment screen that shows the same name as your profile.
- Say what happens next. In the session description, tell clients when you’ll message them to confirm.
- Add “Ask first” for big tickets. For costly packages, a WhatsApp button with a ready message works better than paying straight away.
