How to take bookings from clients abroad
Astrologers, coaches, music teachers and dietitians in India often have clients in the US, UK, Gulf, Singapore or Australia. The work is the same, but booking gets messy: “Is 7 pm your time or mine?” Here’s how to make it simple for both of you.
What goes wrong with overseas bookings
Time-zone mix-ups
You say 7 pm, they hear their 7 pm, and someone waits on an empty call.
Prices that don’t fit
A ₹1,500 price means little to someone in London, and converting it in their head adds doubt.
Payments that fail
Most clients abroad can’t pay by UPI, and asking for a bank transfer feels like work.
Too many messages
Every booking turns into a long chat across two time zones.
Show every slot in the client’s own time
The fix is to never ask the client to convert. You set your hours once in India time. Each visitor sees your open slots in their own local time, with the India time next to it, so both of you know exactly when the session is.
On Card About Me this is automatic. Your page reads the visitor’s time zone from their phone, and they can change it if they’re travelling.
Set a price in dollars
Give each session two prices: one in ₹ for India and one in $ for everyone else. Clients abroad see the $ price first and can switch if they want. Pick a round number that feels fair where they live, rather than an exact conversion.
Payments that work outside India
Add a PayPal.me link or a Razorpay payment link as well as your UPI ID. Clients in India see UPI first; clients abroad see PayPal or card first. The money goes straight to your account, and Card About Me takes no commission. PayPal and Razorpay charge their own usual fees.
Set it up on Card About Me
- 1On the Page tab, add Sessions & booking.
- 2Give each session a name and length, a price in India (₹) and a price abroad ($).
- 3Choose the days you take sessions and add your times, in India time.
- 4Under About you, then Payments, add your UPI ID and a PayPal.me or Razorpay payment link. Payments are part of Pro.
- 5Open your page, tap a session to book it, and change “Showing times for” to another country to see what an overseas client sees.
Tips for overseas clients
- Offer a few evening slots. Your late evening is morning in the US and afternoon in the UK.
- Name the platform. Say in the session description whether you’ll use Google Meet, Zoom or a WhatsApp call.
- Confirm in writing. After a booking, send one WhatsApp message with the time in both time zones.
- Mind daylight saving. The UK, Europe and the US move their clocks twice a year, so the gap with India changes. Showing local time handles this for you.
